Transphobia claimed yet another victim in Rio de Janeiro! The body of a transsexual woman was found on the morning of last Saturday (17/03), floating and tied with ropes at Praia do Barão, near the Cocotá ferry station, on Ilha do Governador. Still unidentified, her body showed signs of mutilation, such as the removal of her breasts. The victim's face also showed signs of violence and there were gunshot marks. The crime is under investigation by the Homicide Department, which is trying to discover the identity of the young woman. “Agents are looking for possible witnesses and images from security cameras installed in the region that could help identify the person responsible for the crime,” he said in a statement.
