Libra course forms first class in Brasília

Last Saturday, the 4th, the first class of cycle 1 of the Brazilian Sign Language (Libras) course at the Deaf and Deaf Center of the Ong Estruturação, a GLBT group in Brasília, graduated.

The person who teaches the course is Professor Carlos Augusto, coordinator of the Center. “From the beginning, the students and I communicated through Libras. It's like a class in any language. We only interact in the language that is being taught,” he explains.

According to Carlos, the course is important for the center to achieve one of its objectives, which is to integrate, within the gay community, deaf men and women with hearing people.
