Daniela Mercury will star in the UN's global campaign to end homophobia

Singer Daniela Mercury, who began her relationship with journalist Malu Verçosa, was invited to star in a global campaign to end homophobia, initiated by the UN High Commissioner for Human Rights (UNHCHR).

The theme of the campaign will be "Free and Equal". Last year, the UNHCHR also released a booklet with governments' obligations to guarantee the rights of lesbian, gay, bisexual and transgender (LGBT) people.

The material was produced by the Office of the Joint United Nations Program on HIV/AIDS (Unaids) in Brazil.
