Everything leads us to believe that the actor Josafá Filho, who plays Filipinho, in “Sangue Bom”, will even be removed from the plot due to controversy involving sexual harassment behind the scenes at TV Globo.
But, while that doesn't happen, the character remains in the air and will finally come out of the closet. On Friday (30), Filipinho will take courage and reveal his homosexuality to his mother, Rosemere (Malu Mader).
The young man spends the night out and when he gets home he is interrogated. “How come you disappear like that, son? He spends the night out, doesn’t call, doesn’t take his cell phone!”, asks the mother. The boy then says that he spent the night with Peixinho (Julio Almeida). The mother disagrees and the son insists: did you hear what I said?
Unsuccessful in getting his mother's attention, Filipinho says he has something very important to tell her. Rosemere then responds: “You're not! You're not what you're thinking. This is a phase, son! It’s normal, a lot of people go through this.”
In the midst of the shouting, the boy takes courage. “This is not a phase. I’m gay, mom!” Rosemere starts to cry. Soon after, Perácio (Felipe Camargo) enters and realizes what is happening when he sees Rosemere in tears and states that for him and Glória (Yoná Magalhães) it didn't make the slightest difference about their son's sexuality.
“It doesn’t make any difference because you weren’t the ones who created it! You weren't the one who had to go to school every other week and talk to the principal because your son was being beaten by his classmates and suffered all kinds of humiliation!”, says Rosemere.
After much confusion, Fiipinho confesses that he didn't choose to be gay and apologizes for making his mother suffer.
“There’s nothing to apologize for. You are the best son a mother could have. I love you so much and now even more! I love you, very, very much!”, Rosemere melts.
The scene of Filipinho coming out of the closet will air this Friday (30).
