Director reveals that 'Independence Day' sequel will have a gay character

The sequel to the film "Independence Day" is already promised for 2015. Among the characters, something new: one of them will be gay. This is what director Roland Emmerich, who is an open homosexual, said.

Still without giving many details about the character, Emmerich said that "ID Forever part 1" will be set 19 years after the events of the first film. Of the old actors, Jeff Goldblum and Bill Pullman have already been confirmed in the cast.

“ID forever part 1” had its script written by the director himself and producer Dean Devlin, now with the collaboration of James Vanderbilt, screenwriter of “The Amazing Spider-Man”.
