Márcia Florêncio, Undersecretary of the State of Social Assistance and Human Rights of Rio de Janeiro, stated that the Hotline LGBT will operate 24 hours a day. Today the system only works for 12 hours.
“Both measures are in the final process of being implemented. As for Dial LGBT, we are only training our team and resolving procedures with telephone companies. We hope to increase the number of services and bring the secretariat closer to the population,” she explained.
“The most important thing now is to disseminate this information so that people become aware and can enjoy this right that is being achieved”, he added.
The undersecretary also informed that the department intends to regulate Law 7.041/15, which aims to fine those who discriminate against LGBT people. The fine can reach up to R$75,7.
