“Drag Queen – The Musical” Its premiere is scheduled for September (11th, 18th and 25th, at 20pm) at the Jürgensen Foundation theater, in Jd. Guanabara.

The show was prepared based on national and even international artistic studies that prove the importance and influence of drag queens in the most diverse areas of human knowledge, such as Culture.

“This assembly took place after the success of 'Cabaré Queen', which was organized a few months ago with the purpose of collecting donations for the Home for the Elderly of Campinas (LVC)”, added the director and producer Orlando Hélio de Oliveira.

The plot contemplates the global trajectory of drag queens, from Stonewall Rebellion (series of violent spontaneous demonstrations by members of the LGBT community against a violent invasion by the New York police) to the present day (considered as the period from the early 2000s). The story, told through interpretations and dubbing of songs from this historical period (1969 – 2016), will also feature stand up comedy, essential for the interconnection of the two acts of the show.

“The expectation is that the show can also contribute to the discussion on ways to reverse prejudice against LGBTT collective , as well as in the broad promotion of this artistic activity, often reserved only for bars or nightclubs aimed at this audience, and, finally, in yet another work alternative for drag queens”, said the director and producer.

The estimated duration of the show is 70 minutes, in two acts. The cast includes Ágatha Chiarini, Diedra Sahar, Helloa Meirelles, Joyce Meirelles, Juliana Drag, Lála Chernobyl, Natasha Sahar, Samylly Vellaskes and Thaylla D' Swan. Tickets for “Drag Queen – The Musical”, at popular prices for the public, are now on sale at the box office of the Jürgensen Foundation theater.
