Drag Queen from São Paulo earns up to R$5 selling wigs inspired by Beyonce

A game that worked and changed the life of Augusto Lima, 23 years old, resident of Mogi das Cruzes, greater São Paulo, is literally making the minds of many women, trans people and wig lovers across the country. Augusto, who also has his female version as a drag queen, is now a micro-entrepreneur, no longer putting himself together for nighttime performances, and earning up to R$5 a month, depending on the dollar exchange rate. “At first I took my hair to a store to have a wig made for me and I became friends with the owner. Afterwards, talking to her, I started promoting the products on social media in exchange for discounts on future purchases. Then the search for clients from Manaus, Fortaleza began and I started selling synthetic wigs. This joke became serious and I had to open an account and legalize the company.” With the great demand, Augusto searched for better quality products to expand his business, and found his golden goose selling wigs “à La Beyonce”. To G1, the hairdresser said that he sells an average of 45 pieces per month, costing between R$410 and R$500. He is currently specializing in the area and is thinking about expanding the business, creating his first physical store.
