Transphobia is unacceptable in any situation – and, among LGBT people themselves, it is particularly revolting and heartbreaking, given that within our group there should always be mutual solidarity and empathy.

The transgender singer Nugget Woman addressed this topic in an outburst during his presentation last Sunday (14), at the LGBT Pride Parade in São Paulo.

“The letter T is the letter that makes everything happen. How many people left for me to be here today and you to be there? So stop demanding respect under that beautiful rainbow if you don’t respect me,” she said after describing a transphobic comment she heard from a cisgender gay man.

See Pepita’s outburst below – and always remember that we need to welcome each other.
