A strong topic in January was the closure and arrest of the owner of the website Megaupload, a website that hosts digital content. It really was deserved, Megaupload was always encouraging illegality. I believe that creative royalties should be paid to creators.

I went to a large Best Buy store, here in the United States, and I was amazed by two things: the number of setup box options for TVs, there must be around 10 brands selling digital content via streaming over the internet here, I also saw it in the store a huge amount of CDs, DVDs and blue-rays for sale.

It was recently that I joined Itunes Match, an excellent service from Apple where you can buy music on iTunes, iPhone, iPad or even Apple TV, and have access to its content wherever you are. Buying music and sharing it between your devices is very easy, quick and practical, there's no reason not to do it. I've bought more music in the last few months than I've probably bought in my entire life. I think this is the solution to the problem of piracy, making it easier to use, this is the great advantage of digitizing music or films.

Imagine that I am at home and I buy any music, in the traditional method I go to a website, place the order, the seller will separate the CD, package it, send it to the mail, then the mail will fly with it across the country or across the country. city. Look at the time, the amount of material used, the damage to the environment caused by all this CD chemistry, the manufacturing process of the CD, the cover, the booklet, and in addition to the cost of maintaining this large number of people and equipment for me bring music to my house. In the new method, everything is just one click away. Just open iTunes, choose the song and click buy. It now automatically downloads to my phone, my computer, my iPad and even my Apple setup box. This is a very good weapon against piracy. But look, just look for older content to see that, at least in Brazil, we still have little content for sale digitally, and the channels are also few. We have iTunes, Sonora and Uol, this one is really bad.

Now in Brazil we don't have online stores and not all digitized content is for sale, we don't have a setup box, only the Apple TV that started selling is a month old, and distribution is very small. How can we demand that Brazil not be a champion of piracy?
