Nominated for an Oscar for her work in the film "Juno", Ellen Page was in Brazil during the 2015 carnival, when he recorded an episode of the documentary series Gaycation, in which he investigated the queer community and homophobia No. Rio de Janeiro.

On that occasion, she even interviewed a police officer who openly said kill gays.

Page also took advantage of his visit to the city to meet with the federal deputy and presidential candidate Jair Bolsonaro.

Known for the always exalted speeches in which he propagates machismo, racism and homophobia, the congressman had a tense conversation with the actress, in which he said all the barbarities with which we are now accustomed.

For example: that the increase in the number of gays in society was due to “liberalism, drugs and women also working”.

Ellen, however, didn't let it go and made a point of reassuring him by stating that he doesn't need to be afraid, that she doesn't want to turn anyone who isn't gay into gay.

I don't know about you, but this kind of committed attitude from this actress makes us hope for better days. What a beautiful example!
