Elton John donates $20 to pro-gay marriage campaign in the US

Singer Elton John, openly gay, decided to join the fight against homophobia and in favor of civil unions between people of the same sex. He has just donated 20 thousand dollars to the activist group Fair Wisconsin, responsible for fighting against the bill that bans same-sex unions in the state of Wisconsin, USA. The money will be used to combat homophobic advertisements created by conservatives, in which they ask citizens to vote for the approval of the bill, thus definitively banning gay marriage in the state. In addition to Wisconsin, in the states of Arizona, Idaho, South Carolina, Tennessee, Virgina and South Dakota there will also be a plebiscite to discuss same-sex marriage. All next week. Elton was the first celebrity to enter into a civil union with his partner, David Furnish, in Britain in December 2006.
