Rapper Jay-Z, who recently released his new album, entitled 4:44, used musical art to admit his mother, Gloria Carter's lesbianism. In the track Smile, present on the album, the singer, Beyonce's husband, states that, despite having had four children, “she is a lesbian”: “She had to hide in the closet, take medicine”. “Society’s shame and the pain was too much for her to bear/I cried tears of joy when you fell in love/It doesn’t matter to me if it’s him or her.” In the background of the song you can hear Gloria's voice speaking about her sexual orientation. In another song, the rapper apologizes for being such a “womanizer”. It is worth remembering that in the album Lemonade, released by his wife in 2016, Beyonce exposes her husband's extramarital affair.
