LGBT entities launch booklet explaining how to go to court in cases of discrimination

A application (National Association of Transvestites and Transsexuals) and the ABGLT (Brazilian Association of Lesbians, Gays, Bisexuals, Transvestites, Transsexuals and Intersexes) together launched a booklet with guidance for LGBT people who are targets of discrimination and want to take legal action.

“Brazil remains the country that murders the most trans people in the world”, says the booklet. “The dossier also brings alarming information about a survey carried out on the occasion of the month to combat LGBTIphobia in the world, according to which 99% of LGBTI+ people participating said they did not feel safe in the country.”

The text was developed with a view to the framing of LGBTphobia in the anti-racist law, decided by the STF (Supreme Federal Court) in 2019.
