Erik Marmo says he's been hit on by a gay guy

Actor Erik Marmo stated in an interview with Capricho magazine that he has already been hit on by a gay man. The 31-year-old global star is on the cover of the latest edition of the publication aimed at teenage girls.

In the interview, Erik says that a boy stared at him in his family's restaurant. The next day, Erik received a call. It was that guy wanting to get to know him better. “I worked at my family's restaurant and once a guy was looking at me and I really thought he was trying to create an atmosphere. Afterwards, he called there and said he wanted to get to know me better. I replied that he misunderstood me, that I had a girlfriend.”

Erik, who played a gay character in the teen soap opera Malhação (the homosexual Sócrates), assessed the impact of the role. “It had repercussions on both sides. Sexist teenagers said: 'Look at the fagot from Malhação!' Once a boy who was in a group with about 10 other boys asked me, jokingly: 'is it true that you like men?' Then I replied: 'Why? You are interested?' He was angry because all his friends laughed in his face. I ended up breaking the mood and becoming friends with the group. On the other hand, those who are openly gay liked the character and praised me. This is good because it helps to break the taboos a little.”

To face the character, Erik says he spoke to many openly gay people. “Some of them went through childhood trauma and had a lot of blocks with sex. But then they rediscovered themselves. Other guys looked like they were born gay,” he revealed. Erik stated that during his performance he received letters from 10-year-old boys who said they liked his friends and from 15-year-old boys who kissed girls to avoid being teased by their friends.

Erik has been dating a model for two years who “doesn’t want to become a celebrity, go on TV”. “We are super discreet,” he revealed.
