US state will review law banning gay marriage

The state of California will take another look at approving gay marriage. Last October, the state Supreme Court upheld the ban, saying the marriage would violate the constitution. The justices are reviewing the decision because they believe homosexuals already have many of the rights that heterosexuals already enjoy, which would not go against the state constitution. In 2004, the mayor of the city of San Francisco had allowed same-sex marriage, but due to pressure from the conservative wing, the court overturned the decision and all marriages (around 4) were canceled.
