“I’m here to join the cause, which is already mine”, says Preta Gil at the launch of the SP Gay Parade

The Casa das Caldeiras event space was the stage last night (30) for the launch of the 15th São Paulo LGBT Pride Parade, which has as its theme "Love One Another: Enough of Homophobia". The ceremony was attended by activists, representatives of the Coordination of Sexual Diversity Affairs (Cads), the Coordination of Policies for Sexual Diversity of the State of SP, as well as members of the Military Police and some businesspeople.

Ideraldo Beltrame, new president of APOGLBT, invited the authorities for a quick speech. Everyone committed to supporting and helping in whatever way possible for the 15th Parade, scheduled to take place on June 26th on Avenida Paulista.

Beto de Jesus, secretary for Latin America and the Caribbean of ILGA (International Lesbian and Gay Association) and member of the executive of ABGLT (Brazilian Association of Gays, Lesbians and Transgenders), recalled the advances made by the Parade over these 15 years.

Singer Preta Gil, who was recently the victim of racist aggression by federal deputy Jair Bolsonaro (PP-RJ), was present at the event and, in her speech, said that such a stance is unacceptable nowadays. Preta responded that she raises her son with an "open mind", just as she was raised. "I'm here to join the cause, which is already mine. And if my image, my personality, my spontaneity, my love can help, I'm here for that," said the singer. Preta will be the diva of this edition of the Parade.

After the activists' speeches, producer André Guimarães presented the 15th Parada project, whose proposal is to prioritize artistic manifestations, without losing focus on the fight for LGBT rights.
