A new study recently published in the scientific journal Annals of Internal Medicine recommends the use of masks during sex amid the new coronavirus pandemic.

Carried out by researchers at Massachusetts General Hospital, the study raises measures that reduce the risk of Covid-19 contamination during sexual relations, in cases of those who decide to “break the quarantine” to have sex.

Scientists suggest reducing the number of people you interact with and checking whether your partner has already shown symptoms of Covid-19 (such as loss of smell and taste, fever, cough and exhaustion).

If potential partners have not had symptoms, do not make out or kiss, as saliva droplets carry the virus – So, in these cases, wear a mask. And no “Greek kiss” either, okay? Because the scientific community has suspected that transmission may occur through “fecal-oral” contact.

Taking a shower before and after sex and disinfecting the place where you are going to have sex are also suggestions from scientists.

It is worth mentioning that the researchers had in mind people who will no longer be able to “hold on” to abstinence during social distancing – the most effective measure of all, so far, to prevent the virus from being spread.
