“I had an almost gay sensitivity”, says Jô Soares

Jô Soares was the guest on the show “O que Vi da Vida”, on Fantástico this past Sunday (23).

The presenter spoke about his childhood and career. At the age of 12 he went to study at a school in Switzerland and had to return at 17 because his father went bankrupt.

“Thank God, my parents had a very jovial spirit, almost pre-hippie! I couldn't have an existential crisis in front of these parents who were so relaxed and so open to facing any crisis", said the presenter.

Jô also confessed that because he was always fat, he tried to draw attention to his actions. "I was very, very showy!"

The comedian also revealed that he was very sensitive as a child. "I was something like that…excessive, you know? I had an almost gay sensitivity!"

On the professional side, he talked about how the idea of ​​creating the character Captain Gay came about. "I created Captain Gay. I woke up in the middle of the night and thought: why aren't there any gay comic book heroes, my God? There's everything, isn't there a gay one?! So I got out of bed and went write Captain Gay", recalls Jô.
