Donald Trump gave to Rush Limbaugh this week the highest honor possible for a citizen of the United States: a Presidential Medal of Honor.

Limbaugh is a conservative radio host known for his hateful rhetoric toward lesbian, gay, bisexual and transgender people.

He received the medal during the traditional presidential speech called “State of the Union”. The first lady, Melania Trump, was the one who placed the medal around the communicator's neck, recently diagnosed with cancer.

In his history of discrimination against LGBT people, Limbaugh stated in 2013 that gay marriage “normalizes pedophilia”.

According to Pink News, the radio host said at the time: “They want us all to think that pedophilia is just another sexual orientation.”

Limbaugh, according to same website, claimed in 2016 (prepare to laugh) that Obama was trying to dominate the southern region of the USA with the support of “lesbian farmers”. “They are trying to dominate one of the last conservative demographic regions in the country, rural America,” he said.

In 2016, when the feature film Moonlight – starring a black and gay character – won the Oscar for best film, the radio host stated on his program, The Rush Limbaugh Show – broadcast in several American states -, that if the Academy did not recognize a gay-themed production, it would cause a “possibly violent” reaction.

According to Pink News, Limbaugh has lately been dedicating his venom to trans people. When the Trump administration banned transgender people from the country's military, the radio host stated: “Normalizing psychosis is what the modern-day Democratic Party wants. (…) The party’s agenda is driven by people with mental problems.”
