Eva Green and Gemma Arterton will star in lesbian romance about Virginia Woolf

Actresses Eva Green and Gemma Arterton will star in the lesbian romance about the life of writer Virginia Woolf, adapted from the play Vita and Virginia, and will be directed by Chanya Button.

The film will tell the story of the vivid romance between writers Virginia and Vita Sackville-West. According to The Guardian, Eva will play Woolf and Gemma will play her partner, Vita.

The relationship maintained between the two was extramarital, since both were married to men between the 1920s and 1930s.

Previously, the love between the two women inspired the play Orlando, adapted for film in 1992, dealing, among others, with transsexuality.
