The city council of Edinburgh, the capital of Scotland, canceled a Christian event with anti-LGBT rhetoric that would have been given by Larry Stockstill, American from Louisiana (southern state of the country), and would take place at the Usher Hall concert hall.

Known for his discriminatory speech towards LGBTs, Stockstill was going to participate in a religious conference, but complaints received by the city hall made him choose to cancel the event, claiming to be in favor of “diversity and equal rights for all”.

According to the British newspaper The Times, Stockstill has publicly said that homosexuality is “repulsive” and has compared it to “incest”.

According to the publication, the American has also stated that same-sex relationships are “deeply repugnant” and “offensive”, in addition to calling abortion “demonic” and asking women not to wear “provocative” clothes.
