Former member of Pânico reveals that he was a victim of homophobia on the program

Presenter Erick Ricarte, who became known for his performance on the program “Pânico” – both on Band, where the attraction was shown, and on the radio version, on Jovem Pan – gave a revealing interview, in which he said he was a victim of prejudice by the other members of the “humorous” group. On the website “Notícias da TV”, Erick said that he became depressed after being fired live from the program which, according to him, only paid him a daily allowance of R$1.500. The worst, however, were the attacks on his homosexuality and origins. “In fact, I'm gay, from the Northeast and fat, but on the air they were very harsh. I tried to take it in stride”, he declared, highlighting that he had been the victim of “homophobic, xenophobic and fatphobic attacks”. Currently, Ricarte has turned things around and is successful as presenter of the show “A Hora da Venenosa”, on TV Atalaia, an affiliate of Rede Record in Sergipe.
