Make yours! Ministry of Health encourages free testing for HIV diagnosis

The Ministry of Health is promoting the campaign “Get to know” as part of the achievements of World AIDS Day, celebrated on December 1st.

The action aims to alert the population about the importance of early diagnosis, which guarantees those with the virus a better quality of life. According to Mistério da Saúde, of the 530 people living with HIV in Brazil, 135 are unaware of their situation.

Taking the test is recommended for the entire population and is available in the Unified Health System (SUS). The test is free, fast, safe and confidential.

The site The Cape supports the campaign and its mission is to highlight that the latest Epidemiological Bulletin, released by the Ministry of Health, showed that, of the 38,8 thousand new cases registered this year, more than half are young people aged 15 to 24 who have sex with other men.

This is why it is important to carry out the test, in addition to using a condom, both during the first sex and in long-lasting relationships. Be smart, and don't make mistakes!
