Students from Cambury College created a project that held a wedding for 3 couples in Goiânia. One couple was gay, one was lesbian and one was straight, who received a complete package from the students: clothes, makeup, beauty salon, registration at the registry office and a reception for guests.
“It was the push I needed. I've been living with my partner for four years, but we never got married for financial reasons. But I always dreamed of getting married. If it weren’t for this project, which covers makeup and clothes, I would definitely put it off for a while longer,” said self-employed Rosana Ribeiro de Morais, to G1 portal.
Professor Giovanna Tavares told the portal that this wedding is a way of raising a flag against prejudice. “This is the first time that a wedding like this has been held at a college. This reinforces diversity and respect.”
She also said that marriage is an activity within the course, and each year students need to choose an event to produce. “It is a practical activity, so the event professional works with various audiences, cannot segregate or have any type of prejudice. So this event aborts all of that,” she added.
