The fans of X-Men have been campaigning on the internet in recent days, asking the black and transgender actress Dominique Jackson, known for rocking the series pose (FX), interpreter Storm in the new mutant films, in which the Marvel has been working recently.
Em petition on the Change website, fans argue that this is an opportunity to improve “diversity” in their films. “People of color and LGBT people feel oppressed more than ever in today’s society,” says the petition’s description.
“Casting a black trans woman in the role of the iconic character would reach new audiences by portraying the heroine as a strong, no-nonsense leader who, like the rest of us, is also human.”
As of this writing, the petition has already received 17 signatures – and aims to reach 25.
I'd RUN to the theater to see Dominique Jackson give us the regality mixed in with true GRIT that encapsulates the character of Ms Monroe! Y'all get in line or get left behind! Sign!
