Fortunately and for the sake of democracy, Rio's gay scene is not limited to famous labels (which always rock). There is an aspect of parties, we would say, alternatives that attract a cool crowd and have been quite successful. This is the case with the UltraLoveCats party, a partnership between DJs Bubaa and Frabizzio. During the summer season, the party was held weekly on Sundays at the FosfoBox club in Copacabana. And it was this last Sunday that we saw the famous party up close. The sound is very diverse. DJ Frabizzio takes a journey, literally, through musical styles. He plays house, goes to pop, then soon, he gets everyone to dance axé and, soon after, they're all on all fours on the floor dancing funk. DJ Buba, on the other hand, stays more in rock and pop, but also sends out a Tati Quebra Barraco from time to time. And the audience has fun. It's a loyal audience, which is always at the party's editions. Everyone talks to each other, has fun and the party vibe is wonderful. A cage attracts attention with a group of friends dancing and having fun with each other inside it. Flirting also happens freely. No fuss, no hassle. Fun is guaranteed at the party. The weekly project is over and now it only comes back in the middle of the year. But the special editions, held once a month in Nova Estudantina, continue and the next one has already been scheduled: March 10th. They say that specials are great celebrations. Understand, more people and more party time. And of course, we won't lose.
