Cher's transgender son says he felt betrayed in a woman's body

Chaz Bono, transsexual son of singer Cher, declared in an interview with Oprah Winfrey that he felt betrayed by his own body as a teenager.

"It was horrible. I had an image of myself and suddenly the body started doing exactly the opposite of what I felt. My body was betraying me,” she said.

Chaz, who has been in a relationship with Jennifer Elia since 2005, is releasing a documentary showing his transformation. Despite not having surgery on his genitals, Chaz had his breasts removed and started taking male hormones.

Still during the interview, Cher's son commented on how his mother dealt with this new phase of hers. “There is no doubt about her unconditional love for me. I don’t think she’s 100% comfortable with it, but I think she’s on the path to that,” he concluded.
