Film with actress Glenn Close dressed as a man opens in cinemas; see trailer

The film "Albert Nobbs", by director Rodrigo Gárcia, earned Glenn Close a nomination for this year's Oscar and it is quite possible that the actress – who has already competed for the award five times – will take the statuette.

In the film, Glenn stands out in the role of a woman who has disguised herself as a man for more than 30 years.

Albert Nobbs is the typical 19th century butler: discreet, punctual and efficient in his work. The difference is that Nobbs has a big dream, opening his own business, a tobacconist.

His disguise and secret continue very well until the owner of the hotel where he works hires a painter to fix up some walls and puts him to sleep in the same room and bed as her butler. From then on, the story takes on a new look and Nobbs' dreams become increasingly possible.

In addition to Best Actress, “Albert Nobbs” is up for two more Oscar nominations, for Best Supporting Actress and Best Makeup.
