Gay film without sex scenes or violence generates controversy after being considered “for adults”

It is not only in Brazil that the film industry finds it difficult to release films with LGBT themes. If here, "Praia do Futuro" received the "warned" stamp, in the United States a film was considered "for adults" due to the simple gay theme.

It's "Love Is Strange", a film that talks about two men who have been married for 40 years and who are forced to live at a distance.

According to the classification made by the American Association, the film cannot be seen by children under 17, unless they are accompanied by guardians. In Ireland and the United Kingdom, the rating is 15 years.

The controversy arises because the film, directed by Ira Sachs, does not feature scenes of sex, violence or even nudity. He talks about love. The actor Alfred Molina, for example, appears in a single sequence with John lithgow on a bed – but they are… Clothed.

The press recalls that the same classification was given to the film "Sin City: The Fatal Lady", which contains scenes of sex, drugs, blood and a lot of violence. The positive side is that, with the controversy, the film's promotion became worldwide. For now, he still has no plans to debut in Brazil.
