'Brothers & Sisters' Season 2 Finale Will Feature Gay Marriage

The second season of the series 'Brothers & Sisters', shown on the pay channel Universal Channel, will have an emotional ending. At least for the LGBT community, who will see a gay marriage on screen.

The episode 'Other Commitments', which will air next Wednesday (21/01), will show the day Kevin (Matthew Rhys) and Scootty (Luke MacFarlane) decide to get married. Scootty also faces drama due to the fact that his parents do not accept his sexuality and are not willing to attend the ceremony.

The scenes received praise from gay NGOs such as the Gay and Lesbian Alliance Against Defamation (GLAAD) in the United States. "It was historic. Never before had there been a marriage between two gay characters on a television network. Four days after this episode aired, the California Supreme Court began allowing marriage between gay couples," said the organization's president Neil Giuliano.
