Although most viewers have known for a long time, Mr. Burns' personal assistant will only come out of the closet in this 27th season, which premiered on Sunday (27).
The person who confirms is the executive producer Al Jean, which delivers that there will be two episodes that will address "platonic" love – in quotation marks, as it is almost declared – for the boss and will talk about self-acceptance.
"In Springfield, most people know he's gay, but of course Mr. Burns doesn't know," Jean told TVLine.

The statement will occur in the episode that will feature a "do what you feel" festival. And, Smithers, will come up to the boss and say, "Sir, in the spirit of the festival and everything else, I would like to say that I... I love you".
Despite the cute moment, the producer did not reveal how the relationship with his boss will unfold.
