France: Bishops pray against gay marriage and adoption by homosexual couples

This Wednesday (15th) "Assumption Day" is celebrated in France, a Catholic festival that celebrates the Virgin Mary's ascension to heaven.

During prayers, French bishops asked more than 20 faithful to pray for the family, thus sparking controversy around the legalization of gay marriage and adoption, a promise of the new socialist government.

"Pray that children stop being the object of adults' desires and conflicts to benefit fully from the love of a father and a mother", the religious asked.
