Employees at Hachette, a publishing group that releases books JK Rowling, stated that they were not “ready” to work in The Ickabog, new title from the author of the series Harry Potter. The information is Daily Mail.

The refusal to work on editing the book comes after Rowling made it on Twitter comments that have been seen as transphobic – and which have generated indignation on the part of many fans and actors who worked on adaptations of the writer's works for cinema.

In a statement, Hachette stated that it is against its internal policies for employees to have “discomfort” when working on a release. “We believe that everyone has the right to freely express their beliefs and thoughts,” he said.

“For this reason, we do not comment on the personal views of our authors and we respect the right of our employees to express their views.”

The Ickabog will be launched in Brazil by Rocco.
