Gallery: between cats and wolves, “Teen Wolf” brings men for all tastes

The Cape No. 59 I already brought, in the "Culture" section, the tip for T for series fans – and we made some comments about it on Dykerama.

Produced by the American MTV and aired on the Sony Spin channel, T is another of the sympathetic series currently airing on pay TV.

The inspiration clearly came from a 1985 film of the same name, starring Michael J. Fox and which, here in Brazil, was translated as nothing like The Boy from the Future – in fact, the first name of the protagonist, the athlete Scott, is the same.

Similarities and differences
Well, the similarities end there. Scott's last name changes, so does the sport – from basketball to lacrosse – and, if the 1985 film is a comedy, the MTV version, although it has some funny or sarcastic lines, is admittedly darker and more serious.

The first season, shown in 2011, deals with the mystery surrounding Scott McCall (Tyler Posey, in the photo), a teenage lacrosse player who, one day in the forest, is bitten by an alpha werewolf, Peter Hale (Ian Bohen) – that is, a werewolf leader of a pack.

The season unfolds with Scott discovering his new powers and trying to lead a normal life, his search for a cure and the revelation of a whole new world involving werewolves.

This includes the discovery of yet another representative of the breed, Derek (Tyler Hoechlin), who was a werewolf by birth and had his family murdered – and that his own girlfriend, Allison (Crystal Reed) is, in fact, a member of the Argent family, which is dedicated to hunting werewolves. In the middle of the process, Scott has the support of stiles (Dylan O'Brien), his best friend.

The first season ends with the death of Allison's aunt, Kate Argent (Jill Wagner), responsible for the massacre of Derek's family, and with the defeat and death of the alpha wolf Peter Hale, who, by the way, was the great villain of the series so far.

The second season, currently airing, features Allison and Scott dating in secret, Derek's transformation into alpha after killing his uncle - and he creates his own pack! – and the emergence of a new shapeshifter, the reptilian kanima, alter-ego of Scott's lacrosse rival, Jackson (Colton Haynes).

All of this, of course, involving fight scenes, some violent deaths along the way, moments of tension and suspense, the funny and sarcastic remarks we mentioned earlier – and, what really interests us, a jaw-dropping male cast!

Gay themed
T is sympathetic for several reasons. In addition to having a homosexual character, Danny (Keahu Kahuanui), Jackson's best friend, she uses the eroticism of male bodies without any problems of conscience – boys with bare chests and bulging muscles appear in almost every episode. There are even scenes in a gay nightclub in the city where the story takes place, Beacon Hills.

The series has also addressed the topic of homosexuality, even if tangentially, and always in a totally natural and spontaneous way. Added to this are discursive elements that remind us of the gay experience. The most emblematic is the situation of being a werewolf, a secret that Scott keeps under lock and key and avoids revealing even to the people he loves most. Any similarity with be in the closet It's not a mere coincidence.

Oh, and did we mention the male cast? In the gallery below, you can see some of them. From the youngest to the most mature, from the thinnest to the most pumped up, from the nerd to the athlete, there is something for everyone.

T is shown every Wednesday on Sony Spin, from 22pm, with a replay of the previous episode at 21pm. A subtitled rerun of the week's episode is shown on Sundays. Hurry, because there are only four weeks left until the end of the season. The third is already confirmed for 2013, with 10 more episodes.
