8-year-old boy riding attracts attention at LGBT Parade; mother is an example of love

During the New York LGBT Pride Parade last weekend, two protesters caught our attention: an eight-year-old boy riding high and having a blast, accompanied by his mother.

It was yet another proof of family acceptance and support for the child's individuality. But not everyone saw it that way and there was criticism – including from LGBT people – for the "early support".

After the rain of criticism and praise, the mother declared that she has long realized that the little one has a "fluid" gender, that he has a predilection for symbols considered feminine and, because she loves him unconditionally, she understands that the little one has the right to be exactly who he is.

"He's always preferred dolls to action figures. He goes to ballet classes, he loves dancing, he loves drag queens and he's starting to show interest in boys. That's really cute. What doesn't seem appropriate to me as a mother is to censor him." , he declared, avoiding revealing his identity to avoid attacks.

When talking about prejudice, his mother admits that he suffers from homophobia at school. But the attitude towards bullying is to talk to principals and teachers. "We do our best to stop bullying and involve LGBT services at his school. We decide to get involved with the LGBT community because we believe that talking to other people shows him that his life has value and that living is good".

Regarding the demonstration, she says that her son is "intelligent enough" to understand that he was marching in front of thousands of people for the LGBT cause. "And he did all of this because he wanted to. In fact, I thought he would stop after 10 blocks, but he felt so good in that outfit, being who he really is and dancing, that he continued the whole way."

Cute, right?

Leaving a message for other parents, she said: "Always love your children completely and unconditionally. We are not our children, we are just the vessels through which they enter this world. They need love, respect and acceptance."
