Globo bans Mateus Solano from playing Félix in “Crô 2 – O Filme”

One of the most enigmatic characters on Brazilian TV in recent years is undoubtedly Félix, from “Amor à Vida” (2013). Created by Walcyr Carrasco and played by Mateus Solano, the iconic persona was marked in television drama for his evil and, of course, his catchphrases. Also, for having starred in the first kiss between two men on national television. Director Bruno Barreto tried to resurrect the character for the sequel to “Crô – O Filme”, but received negative feedback from Globo. According to columnist Patrícia Kogut, from O Globo, the broadcaster said “it prefers to preserve the character for the possibility of future use”. “Crô – O Filme”, is inspired by the also iconic gay character Crô, played by Marcelo Serrado, in the soap opera Fina Estampa (2011), by Aguinaldo Silva. Barreto's idea is to resurrect gay characters who made history on Brazilian TV, such as Seu Peru from Escolinha do Professor Raimundo, played by Marcos Caruso and Ferdinando from Vai Que Cola, played by Marcus Majella.
