“I like men”, says Dias Gomes’ daughter

Writer and music reporter Mayra Dias Gomes, daughter of playwright Dias Gomes, author of classics such as “O Pagador de Promises” and “O Bem Amado”, was interviewed by Santiago Nazarian (“Mastigando Humans”) for Joyce Pascowitch magazine.

In the interview, Mayra spoke about the release of her second novel, “A Thousand and One Silent Nights”, which features sex scenes between women and androgynous characters. Regarding her sex life, the writer made a point of making her preferences clear. “As for androgyny, I love well-dressed, produced men, makeup doesn’t hurt. And I’ve already experienced what I had to experience, I don’t limit myself, but I’m comfortable with my sexuality, I like men,” she declared.

Mayra's first book, “Fugalaça”, released in 2007, was written when she was just 17 years old. The work is a mix of fiction and autobiography, narrating in detail a young woman's dive into a world full of sex, drugs and rock'n'roll.

“One Thousand and One Silent Nights” tells the story of Clara, a lonely young girl who suffers from insomnia and is unable to deal with society.
