Four pro-LGBT organizations in the United States are processing the country's Department of State and its respective secretary, Mike Pompeo, management Donald Trump (Republicans), for attempts to remove the rights of lesbians, gays, bi and trans people from the country's human rights laws. The information is from Pink News.

The groups claim that the “Commission on Inalienable Rights”, announced by Pompeo in July 2019, has no specific purpose and that there is no diversity of views among its members – as they are all religious conservatives, they demonstrate their intention to seek place religious beliefs above the law and are publicly known as spreading hate against LGBT people.

When the Commission was announced, Pompeo declared that founding it would be necessary, as “international institutions designed and built to protect human rights have moved away from their original mission.” According to the activists suing, the statement suggests that there is “tension” between different rights.

The lawsuit argues that, according to the interpretation of the law that the Commission adopted – guided by “natural law”, according to itself – and with the selection of members made, there is a premeditated objective of promoting setbacks in the rights of the LGBT population in relation to to sexual freedoms, equal treatment and even access to healthcare.
