Dykes on Bikes group parades in San Francisco parade

The lesbian biker group Dykes on Bykes held a good-natured protest at the 38th San Francisco gay parade, which took place this Sunday (29) on Market Street.

From atop their motorcycles, some members, dressed in veils and garlands, waved to the public. They celebrated the California court's decision to allow same-sex marriage. Other bikers wore banners saying “Just Married.”

The city's mayor, Gavin Newson, attended the demonstration and was widely applauded by the public. In another important North American city, New York, the parade brought together more than 1 million people.
