Grupo SOMOS launches campaign against homophobia

On November 05th, Wednesday, the SOMOS group will meet with leaders of the Brazilian LGBT movement to launch the campaign against homophobia and debate the topic. The meeting will be held at Teatro Renascença, in Porto Alegre.

The campaign aims to raise awareness among the population about crimes resulting from homophobia. The material developed by the Competence agency includes a video to be broadcast on television, and will also include folders, posters, car stickers and also interventions at traffic lights.

On the same day as the campaign launch, a round table will be held with Gustavo Bernardes – coordinator of SOMOS -, Eduardo Barbosa – deputy director of the National STD/AIDS Program of the Ministry of Health -, Claúdio Nascimento – representative of the Arco Íris Group of Rio de Janeiro Janeiro -, Simione de Fátima Cesar da Silva – advisor to the Participatory Management Support department of the Ministry of Health -, and Paulo Biaggi from the Brazil Without Homophobia Program.
