The actress Halle Berry, 53, recently posted a video on Instagram in which her son Maceo, 6, appears wearing high-heeled boots.
The boy, in a relaxed moment of play, tries to climb the stairs of Berry's house using his shoes. It was enough for the post to receive several homophobic comments, condemning the mother for letting her son play in high heels.
“I hope this is the daughter,” commented one. “Unfortunately it’s her son…” wrote another. “I don’t let my son wear high heels,” said another person. In one of the comments, a network user referred to Maceo as “she”.
But Berry came to his son's defense – and responded brilliantly to the comments.
“He’s a boy and he’s having fun,” he said. “Trying to do the best he can. Laughing helps a lot now! Things are hard for these kids right now. Let’s laugh and have more compassion.”
She definitely had a “Catwoman moment.”
