Man is convicted of LGBTphobia after offending gays on Facebook

Student and LGBT activist, Felipe Resende, filed a lawsuit in Rio de Janeiro, and obtained the conviction of a man who made several homophobic comments in one of his posts.

Felipe published a celebration about the favorable votes in the trial for the criminalization of homophobia, and ended up receiving several insults from a man called Edson Siqueira. In the publication, Edson called Felipe and other gays “fags” and “fags”, and also said that Felipe, in addition to being a fag, looked like a drug addict.

Edson was ordered to pay compensation for moral damages, the equivalent of ten thousand reais.
