Gilmar Santos de Souza, aged 40, was murdered in the early hours of Saturday (20), in Água Clara, which is 193 kilometers from Campo Grande. The murder would have been motivated by homophobia.

The accused: two teenagers aged 14 and 17, whose names cannot be disclosed due to their age, who allegedly beat Gilmar to death.

In an interview with Correio do Estado, the delegate Luis Augusto Milani stated that the attackers had admitted to the crime and that it all started when Gilmar made a joke on one of them. The minors would not have liked this attitude and began attacking the victim with sticks and broken tiles, running away shortly afterwards.

Gilmar was found by the Military Police lying on the public road with several head injuries and lifeless. A witness named the accused, who were found in their homes and, in testimony, confessed to the crime.

The 17-year-old teenager has convictions for threats, bodily harm, drug trafficking, fraudulent misrepresentation and facilitating the entry of a cell phone into jail. They were apprehended and charged with criminal homicide.
