“Men are becoming gay out of fear of modern women”, says writer

British writer Jilly Cooper caused controversy on social media after a controversial statement she made during the Hay literary festival. At the time, the author attributed the “large number of gays” out today to the fact that men fear modern women , who would be increasingly empowered and in control of themselves. “Men are crying all the time now! And they have beards! A gay friend of mine started going online and said that there are a lot of married men looking for affairs with gay men,” she began. “They are acting like this out of fear of women in today's world. It ends up being safer to go with the same sex than to face them”, said Jilly, criticizing the feminist movement.
