Residing illegally in Israel, a Palestinian homosexual appealed to the local Supreme Court to seek asylum, as he runs the risk of being expelled from the country and returning to the West Bank, where he fears being murdered due to his sexual orientation.
According to the Israeli newspaper Yedioth Ahronoth, the Palestinian says he has already been detained and attacked by the police for being gay.
He also told the publication that he has a ten-year formal relationship with an Israeli, with whom he lives and signed a coexistence agreement, as two people of different religions cannot legally marry in Israel, whether or not they are of the same sex.
