III Brazilian Psychology Congress discusses sexual diversity

On September 5th, psychologist Maria Berenice will participate in the round table "Sexual Diversity: Challenges for subjectivity and democracy", which takes place within the program of the III Brazilian Congress Psychology: Science & Profession.

Specialist Suely Emilia de Barros Santos will also be part of the panel, whose research, "Homosexualities and Youth: New strokes in the scenario of subjectivities", addresses the role of psychology in these cases.

"Psychology can be another instrument of recognition and promotion of such diversity that is configured not only by sexuality, but by the multiplicity that is characteristic of humans", argues Suely.

Diversity, homosexuality and homophobia will be highlighted by several congress participants, such as Aline Aparecida Rabelo, with "The role of homophobia in the differentiation between masculine and feminine"; Vera Lúcia Mendes Trabbold, with "The search for the ideal body among male teenagers who attend gyms", among others.

The third edition of the Brazilian Psychology Congress is organized by the Forum of National Entities of Brazilian Psychology (Fenpb), and takes place from September 3 to 7 in São Paulo, bringing together 21 psychology associations and more than 4 thousand works on various topics related to research and the professional performance of the psychologist.
