Unmissable! Julianne Moore and Ellen Page bring lesbian couple to life in “Love by Right”

The feature film premieres tomorrow (21) in cinemas "Love for Law" (Freeheld), directed by Peter sollet and starring Julianne Moore, Ellen Page, Steve Carell and Michael Shannon.

In the plot Laurel Hester (Julianne Moore), police lieutenant of Nova Jersey, and his partner, Stacie Andree (Ellen Page), battle county lawmakers to secure pension benefits when Laurel is diagnosed with terminal cancer.

Based on real events, the film manages to move the audience at several moments, with convincing performances.

Ellen Page (lesbian out in real life), is different from anything we've ever seen on the big screen, her character Stacie Andree with more masculine mannerisms surprises those who were used to seeing her as the fragile and sweet little girl in films like Juno and X-man.

Julianne Moore, who plays police officer Laurel Hester, presents a vain character, the type that no one even suspects of the possibility of being a lesbian. A very cool point in the film, as it directly contributes to breaking the stereotypes that all gays are effeminate and all lesbians are truck drivers.

With striking and impactful phrases such as: "I have to fight for things given to you", the film is a great invitation to reflection that should please everyone. LGBT community and promote the long-awaited empathy in straight people by humanizing the story of two ordinary people who among a million characteristics are lesbians.

Politics and religion are also topics covered in this story, which is a mix of sweet drama, documentary and hints of humor. Humor guaranteed by the actor Steve Carell that makes a LGBT activist quite dedicated.

Although it's not cool to see an activist being played by a comedian, which may seem offensive to many, it's understandable that they need a counterbalance in the story so that it has its moments of lightness.

It's really difficult to leave the film without getting emotional, at several moments it builds an atmosphere conducive to crying, not only due to the sensitive performance of Julianne Moore who changes her voice throughout the story and becomes increasingly fragile, but also because of the soundtrack that very well encapsulates the emotional moments of the plot.

At the end of the film, viewers are introduced to the real characters that inspired the film and can see through the final data that appears on the screen how much their struggle influenced the achievement of many.

Without a doubt, this is an unmissable film!
