A fire on Monday night (26) hit a building where a shoe store operated on Rua da Carioca, in the center of Rio.
The building is located next to Cine Ideal, a traditional gay club in the city. Five fire department vehicles were taken to the scene to put out the fire, which threatened the Cine building.
The club team immediately went to the scene to help control the flames. The door was broken down by firefighters to check the condition of the property. The building where Cine Ideal operates is listed as a National Historic Site. The fire was brought under control around 20:40 p.m.
The club ended up on Twitter's Trending Topics, the most talked about topics on the microblog.
