Makeup influencer Nikkie de Jager, known as “NikkieTutorials”, became even more successful on the internet after coming out as a transgender woman earlier this year. But, before reaching that moment of joy and liberation, she was the target of transphobia.
Recently, Nikkie stated in an interview with the Dutch magazine &C who was diagnosed with post-traumatic stress disorder after receiving blackmail – from people she does not specify – being threatened with having her gender identity, until that moment still a private information about her, exposed in the press and having her career harmed.
“I try to give myself some time, but sometimes it’s difficult,” he said.
